Editing, autosave, and deleting notes

How editing and saving work, how to rename a note, and what happens when you delete one.

Editing

Both My notes and Enhanced are ordinary rich-text editors. Headings, bullets, and basic formatting all work. Type anywhere, any time — during the meeting, or a week later.

Autosave

There is no save button. Amlin saves continuously as you type, including the title. Notes survive a crash, a force-quit, and a restart. If you quit mid-sentence, the sentence is there when you come back.

Renaming

Click the title at the top of the note and type. Notes opened from a calendar event are pre-titled with the event name; ad-hoc notes start as "Untitled meeting" or a timestamped "Call · 2:15 PM".

Moving a note to a folder

⋯ → Folder in the note header, or right-click the note in the sidebar. See Folders.

Deleting a note

⋯ → 🗑 Delete, or right-click it in the sidebar.

Amlin asks for confirmation, and it's honest about the scope: deleting removes the note and its transcript from all of your devices, and it can't be undone. If a capture is running for that note, it's stopped first (with no enhancement).

If you just want a note out of the way, move it to a folder rather than deleting it. Deletion is for things you actually want gone.
