One Google sign-in does four things at once:
Creates your free Amlin account
Enables the cloud features — meeting transcription, enhanced notes, briefings, and Ask
Turns on sync across your Macs
Connects your Google Calendar, read-only
Sign in from onboarding, from Settings → Account & Sync, or from the Getting Started checklist.
What works without an account
All dictation — it runs entirely on your Mac and is unlimited on every plan, forever
Typing, editing, organizing, and searching notes — your library is local
What needs an account
Live meeting transcription
Enhance
Ask anything
Briefings
Sync across your Macs
Calendar
If you try one of these while signed out, Amlin shows an inline sign-in prompt right where you are, rather than an error.
Signing out
Settings → Account & Sync → Sign out. Your notes stay on your Mac; syncing stops and cloud features are unavailable until you sign back in.
Managing your plan
The same pane shows your current plan, your usage against its limits, and an Upgrade to Pro button when relevant. See Plans & limits.
