Dictation is free forever, on every plan. It runs on your own hardware and costs nothing to serve, so it's never metered — and it keeps working whether you're signed in, signed out, or offline.
How the limits actually behave
The cap is checked when a meeting starts, not continuously. If you're under the limit when you hit Start, that meeting finishes, even if it crosses the line partway through. Amlin will never cut off a live meeting.
Over the limit at start: new meetings can't begin, and you'll see a limit notice with an Upgrade button.
Ask has its own limit on Free: 10 questions per month.
Free plan sessions stop at 3 hours. Transcription ends and the text captured up to that point is preserved and still enhances.
Everything else keeps working when you're over a limit — typing notes, editing, dictation, search, folders, and export are all unaffected.
When limits reset
Free: on the first of each calendar month (UTC)
Pro: monthly, on your subscription's anniversary date
Your current usage and reset date are shown in Settings → Account & Sync.
What a Free user keeps forever
Unlimited dictation, every note you've made, editing, search, folders, sync, and export. Hitting the meeting cap limits new AI meetings — it never bricks the app or locks you out of your own data.
