Action item — A commitment extracted from a meeting as a structured record, with an owner, due date, priority, and a link to the transcript line it came from.

Ask anything — The chat bar at the bottom of every note. Answers about the current meeting or across your whole history, with citations.

Briefing — A pre-meeting summary generated from your past meetings with the same people. The ✦ Brief me button on Home.

Capture — Amlin listening to a meeting. Always started explicitly by you.

Cleanup level — How much dictation is allowed to tidy your speech: Verbatim, Light, or Standard.

Custom Dictionary — The shared vocabulary of terms and replacement rules that both meeting transcription and dictation use.

Enhance — The action that merges your raw notes plus the transcript into structured notes and action items.

Enhanced view — The AI-written version of a note. Editable, and replaced (never merged) on re-enhance.

Floating recorder — The always-on-top pill at the screen edge that proves capture is still running when the note isn't in front of you.

Me / Them — The two audio channels in a meeting capture. Me is your microphone; Them is your system audio, i.e. everyone else.

My notes — Your raw, typed notes. Never overwritten by AI.

Open loops — Another name for your action items — the running cross-meeting checklist.

Provenance — The black/gray distinction inside an enhanced note: black is your words, gray is Amlin's.

Recipe — A saved prompt, run by typing / in the Ask bar.

Snippet — A spoken trigger phrase that expands into longer text while dictating.

Template — The section structure an enhanced note is written into.
