Does a bot join my meeting?
No. Amlin captures your Mac's own audio at the OS level. Nothing appears in the participant list, and there's no per-platform integration to set up.
Does it work with Zoom / Google Meet / Teams / Webex / phone calls?
Yes — with anything that makes sound through your Mac, including in-person conversations picked up by your mic.
Is my meeting audio stored?
No. It's streamed for live transcription and discarded. Only text is kept.
Does Amlin record my screen?
No. It never records or reads video. macOS bundles system-audio capture under the screen-recording permission, which is why Amlin asks for it.
Do the other participants know?
Not from Amlin — nothing announces itself. Telling them is your call. See Recording consent and etiquette.
Does dictation send my voice to a server?
No. Speech recognition and cleanup run entirely on your Mac, and dictation history never syncs.
Does Amlin work offline?
Dictation does, fully. Notes stay editable offline. Live transcription, Enhance, briefings, and Ask need a connection.
Is there a Windows version?
No, and none is planned. Amlin is macOS-first by design.
Does it run on an Intel Mac?
No — Apple Silicon (M1 or later) only.
Is Amlin on the Mac App Store?
No. App Store sandboxing would make system-wide dictation impossible, so Amlin is a direct download.
Can I use it without an account?
Yes for dictation, note-taking, editing, and search. Transcription, Enhance, Ask, briefings, sync, and calendar need a free sign-in.
What happens when I hit my plan limit?
A live meeting always finishes. New meetings can't start until the limit resets or you upgrade. Dictation stays unlimited on every plan.
Can I edit the AI's output?
Yes — everything is editable, in both views, always.
Will re-enhancing destroy my notes?
It replaces the Enhanced view only, with a warning if you've edited it. Your raw notes are never touched.
Can I share a note?
Copy it with formatting intact and paste it anywhere — Slack, Docs, Notion, Mail. See Sharing and exporting notes.
Can I import my notes from Granola?
Yes — a folder of Markdown, a single .md, or a .json export. See Import notes from Granola or another tool.
What does Pro cost?
Amlin Pro is $15/month. The Free plan is $0 forever and includes unlimited dictation plus 4 AI meeting-hours a month.
Is dictation included on the free plan?
Yes, unlimited, forever. It runs on your Mac, so it costs nothing to serve and is never metered.
How do I delete everything?
Delete individual notes from the app; wipe dictation history from the History window; contact support to delete your account and server-side data.
