1. Check the status
Settings → Account & Sync shows one of: up to date · last 2:41 PM, syncing…, N pending, or error: ….
2. Same account on both devices?
The most common cause of "my notes aren't on my other Mac." Check the signed-in email on both, and make sure they match.
3. Force a sync
Click Sync now on both devices. Sync otherwise runs about every 30 seconds.
4. Expected gaps that aren't bugs
Transcripts never sync. The note syncs; the raw transcript stays on the Mac that captured it. This is by design.
Dictation history never syncs. Local-only, always.
5. A stuck pending count
If the pending count doesn't move for several minutes:
Check your network
Quit and relaunch Amlin
If it persists, sign out and back in on the affected device — your local notes are untouched by signing out
6. A very large note
Occasionally a huge note is rejected by the sync service and kept locally only. It's still on the device where you wrote it; splitting it into two notes usually resolves it.
