The warnings you might see
During the meeting:
⚠ Unstable transcription connection — these notes may be incomplete.
After the meeting, above the notes:
⚠ The transcription connection kept dropping during this meeting, so the transcript is fragmented and these notes may be unreliable.
Amlin tells you honestly rather than quietly handing you a bad note.
What causes it
Live transcription needs a steady network connection. The usual culprits:
Weak or congested wifi, especially while also on a video call
A VPN reconnecting, or an aggressive corporate proxy or firewall
Your Mac switching networks mid-meeting (wifi ↔ ethernet, or between access points)
Sleeping or losing connectivity when the lid closes
Amlin reconnects automatically and resumes, keeping everything transcribed up to that point. But repeated drops leave gaps.
What to do
Enhance anyway. Amlin works from what it has, and your typed notes are unaffected — they're local and complete.
Fill the gaps by hand. Your notes and the enhanced view are both editable.
For the next meeting: get onto a more stable network, prefer ethernet for long or important calls, and pause your VPN if it's known to drop.
If it happens on every meeting
That points at your network environment rather than a one-off. Corporate networks sometimes block or throttle the persistent websocket connection transcription uses. Contact support with your setup and we can help narrow it down.
